Tissue Intramuscular Im Route Administration Medication Administered Muscle

Front What is the intramuscular (IM) route of administration?
Back This is medication administered into the muscle. Usually, medications given this way are absorbed quickly because muscles have a lot of blood vessels. Possible problems with this method are damage to muscle tissue and uneven, unreliable absorption, especially in people with decreased tissue perfusion. Auto-injectors frequently use this method.
